History

Protective fencing was established in 1975 by Craig Gibbens, as the latest venture into the wire industry by the Gibbens family.

The original business was focused on supply and installation of chainwire security fencing and was succesfull in many commercial, industrial and government fencing projects across NSW.

Further expansion in the 80’s saw the addition of manufacture and hire of temporary fencing systems, mainly on the central coast in NSW.

In 2005 Protective Fencing had finally out grown it’s premises at Gosford and relocated to a new, purpose built manufacturing facility at Somersby. This change of location also marked a change of direction for the company with the exit of all remaining contracting activities and the new focus was totally manufacturing and distribution to the wider fencing industry.

Manufacturing of Fencing products has continued to influence the growth of Protective over the following years with the introduction of new machinery and the acquisition of several companies to enhance and expand our capabilities.

These developments have seen us emerge as PROTECTIVE GROUP and established the company as one of the largest Australian manufacturers of chainwire and welded wire mesh to the fencing industry.
