The Gibbens family has a proud history in the wire manufacturing industry in Australia dating back to 1907.
In 1975 Craig Gibbens, third generation in the industry started Protective Fencing with a focus on supply and installation of chainwire security fencing (a relatively new product at the time).
Protective Fencing completed many commercial, industrial and government fencing projects across NSW. The company grew significantly in the ’80s and added the manufacture and hire of temporary fencing to its expertise.
Protective Fencing’s name is synonymous with quality and service, in the early 2000s the business strategy shifted to exclusively supplying and distributing fencing products to the industry.

Strategic expansion in 2005 saw Protective Fencing complete a second purpose-built manufacturing facility in NSW. The continual evolution of machinery, processes and strategic company acquisitions throughout the 2010’s has further expanded Protective Fencing’s capabilities.
Known as “Australia’s trusted fencing partner” Protective Fencing is continually advancing the service approach to support our customers business growth.
