Close-spaced welded steel mesh for utility network specifications
DESCRIPTION
Promax™ EA mesh is a custom-specified close-spaced welded steel mesh manufactured for network operator perimeter applications. The system is specified by Ausgrid for substation and switchyard perimeter security across the Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter Valley regions.
The mesh features a 25mm x 75mm aperture and 5mm wire diameter, providing a tight, close-spaced barrier suitable for security level perimeter protection around utility infrastructure. Standard panel dimensions are 2400mm wide by 3000mm high. For projects requiring anti-climb performance, see the Promax™ 358 mesh range.
Promax™ EA mesh is available in three coating options to suit different specification and environmental requirements:
- Bright finish (raw material, uncoated)
- LifeMax Plus by Infrabuild (zinc-aluminium coating for enhanced corrosion resistance)
- Hot Dip Galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 (full immersion galvanising for maximum durability)
The system uses a nominal bore (NB) post configuration matched to the structural role of each post within the fence line, ranging from 32NB up to 100NB depending on position and loading requirements. Panels are connected with easy-ty security ties and H joiners, providing secure panel-to-post fixing aligned with utility network installation requirements. Read more about specification considerations in our substation security fencing guide.
Profence manufactures Promax™ EA mesh in Australia and supplies directly to contractors, utilities, and project specifiers working on network infrastructure projects. For project quotes, specification verification, or technical support, contact the Profence team.
