We proudly operate Australia’s most diverse specialist wire fabrication plants specialising in chainwire, high security mesh, formed wire and fabricated products.
We work closely with our customers to understand their needs and provide a customised Australian made product that exceeds their expectations. Protective distribute Australia wide and have manufacturing and supply centres in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Wire Mesh
Protective are Australia’s largest specialist welded mesh supplier. Our precision mesh machines produce high quality mesh in a range of sizes and wire diameters. Our mesh machines have a high cross wire output for large projects, while still being cost effective for smaller jobs.
Protective mesh can be manufactured to almost any size that is required, folded, cut raked, notched and trimmed to size. We customise our mesh to meet our customers requirements.
Mesh applications include high security 358 fencing, machine guarding, hard rock mine mesh, coal mine mesh, Industrial mesh and gabions.
Custom Fabrication (Welding)
Protective have an extensive engineering team who work with our customers to understand their needs and provide customised engineered metalwork solutions.
Our extensive range of welding equipment and machinery, coupled with qualified operators means that all of our fabrication is completed in house in Australia, this allows us to be cost effective for our customers on small or large projects.
Our customised welded solutions include high security and low security gates, posts, metal frames, machinery guarding, weld mesh safety screens, mine guarding, conveyor guarding, pre fabrication of high security frames and assembly.
Custom projects are finished commonly in galvanised or powder coating. Complementary to all of our customised products Protective operate a powder coating facility and can further customise products into a wide range of colours.
Wire Forming Machines
Protective have a range of wire forming machines capable of providing solutions to various industries.
Our wire forming machines (2D & 3D) have various computer driven functionalities that enable lengths of wire to be formed into many different products.
We also operate a ring rolling machine with the capability of manufacturing wire products using 8mm to 10mm gauge wire in bright steel, stainless steel or galvanized steel.
Rounds can be fabricated from 300mm to 900 diameter. Protective can spot weld formed wire wings into completed rings.
Products manufactured include Osro Mine straps, powder coating hooks, irrigation hooks, C Hook, S hook and display hook’s, lamp shades, lighting etc.
Complementary to all of our customised products Protective operate a powder coating facility and can further customise products into a wide range of colours.
Straightened and Cut Wire
Protective have a fleet of cut and straightened wire machines are capable of working with wire from 1.5mm to 10mm diameter.
Wire is cut, straightened and bundled to customer determined quantities. Wire grades that can be straightened and cut include galvanized steel, high tensile and soft wire, mild steel wire, HDLC, stainless steel.
Lengths of cut and straightened wire are commonly used in our customers own production processing. Protective use Australian wire, product data sheets can be provided with cut and straightened wire.
Pipe and Post Forming
Protective have equipment capable of forming and bending pipe and posts to customer’s requirements.
Pipe in medium or extra light 20NB, 25NB, 32NB, 40NB, 50NB (Nominal Bore NB mm) are cut into various lengths. The Posts can be finished straight or cranked using our pipe bender, three barb pressed, drilled and or powder coated to customer requirements.
Posts are commonly used by our customers for security fences and sporting enclosures.
Pressed Metal Products
Protective’s hydraulic press brake machines are capable of pressing mesh into just about any shape.
Our state of the art machinery uses 135 tonne of force to press mesh, common forms are V press, 90 of 45 degrees.
Products manufactured include pressed mesh for fences high and low security, gabions for architectural and structural applications.
Hole Punched Products
Protective’s hole punch machine is commonly used on flat steel bar, U, C & I-beams, mild steel, aluminium, sheet metal and other hard materials/ products.
Our hole punching machine is capable of punching flat steel in various sizes. Tooling includes a range of metal punch shapes and sizes round, square, rectangular and more. Flat shearing, bar shearing, notching, angle shearing.
Protective’s punched metal products include Posts for high security fencing (including our own T and UItra post).
Wire Formed Ring Rolling Machine
Protective’s wire ring forming machine is capable of rolling wire into rings of large or small rounds.
Our ring rolling machine has the capability to manufacture wire products using 8mm to 10mm gauge wire in bright steel, stainless steel or galvanized steel. Rounds can be fabricated from 300mm to 900 diameter. Protective can spot weld formed wire wings into completed rings.
Products are used by our customers to manufacture lamp shades, lighting etc.
