Fencing for power utility infrastructure
Power utility projects need fencing matched to the asset owner’s specification. Substations, switching facilities, equipment compounds and outer property boundaries can have different access, security and documentation requirements.
Develop the system around the brief
PROMAX 358 anti-climb mesh, PROPALE palisade and Boulevard Security provide starting points for a security perimeter. Confirm the nominated panel, post, fixing and gate arrangement with the network operator rather than assuming one product specification applies to every utility site.
Coordinate the fence with the project’s electrical and civil design. Any requirements relating to earthing, clearances, equipment access or attached services need to be defined by the responsible project specialists.
Include with your enquiry
- Asset owner, site location and nominated fencing specification.
- Boundary plan, proposed heights and ground-level information.
- Vehicle and pedestrian gate schedules, including maintenance access.
- Required finishes and interfaces with adjacent structures.
- Drawing, reporting and approval requirements, quantities and staging.
For solar and wind projects, also see Green Energy. Share the applicable project documents early so product options can be reviewed against the actual scope.
